37 Coonabarabran Guides, leaders and family members drove out to Baradine for a fun family day. Arriving first at the Discovery Centre the Guides and their families enjoyed engaging in the many interactive and static displays. We were welcomed by Jillian Norton to observe and engage with the newly forming sculptures being made by artist Pamela Denise, who is currently working at the back of the Freckles Restaurant. The Guides created star burst designs out of broken tile pieces that Pamela has incorporated in the smallest of the sculptural pieces. Pamela explained the preparations of the sculptures, of which the logistics were quite impressive, along with the beautiful design of the pieces.

We then enjoyed the fine food of Freckles before setting off for the Sculptures in the scrub. The sculptures were new to many of the group and those who had been before enjoyed the sites again. We are so delighted that we could be a part of the next sculpture giving us a very special connection to this iconic feature of the Pilliga.
